Ex:  We “set up a meeting” for next week.

Ex:  It’s almost time for us to open the store.  Let’s “set up shop.”

= trick, trap, frame someone

Ex:  The suspect of the crime says he was “set up by someone,” and he didn’t do the crime.

Ex:  The bully “set up the other student” to get kicked in the butt by everyone.
