Bandwagon

= a particular activity or cause that has suddenly become fashionable or popular

(*“Bandwagon” is especially used when referring to cheering for a successful sports team. *And “joining the bandwagon” is considered a negative because it shows you are not loyal to a team when they are not good.)

Origin: bandwagon comes from a wagon used for carrying a band in a parade or procession.

Ex:  He always jumps on the “bandwagon” and cheers for the team that is doing the best.

Ex:  You need to get on the “bandwagon” and paint your door white because everyone else is doing it.
