Wannabe

= a person who tries to be like someone else or to fit in with a particular group of people

 *It’s shortened from “want to be.”

Ex: He always carries a knife, but he is weak.  He’s a “wannabe” gangster.

Ex:  He always tries to wear the popular clothes to fit in.  He is such a “wannabe.”
